The objectives of the project are to support Palestinian refugee men and women to improve their life conditions and to spread among them the cooperative spirit and cooperative work, as well as to convince them that the individual work have proven to be inefficient through the years especially in the current crises that Lebanon is going through since 2019 and the regional resignation and abandonment for the Palestinian refugees’ issue from one hand and the whole Palestinian issue on the other hand.
The project technical assistant tasks will include monitoring, tracking cooperatives progress, ensure activities are done properly, support beneficiaries in solving problems and many project requirements and standards. The assistant must be flexible, sensitive understanding of the social background of the Palestinian community, extensive knowledge of Beddawi and Nhr el Bared camp, able to assess the needs of the youth/juniors, basic reporting skills, analytical overview and socio-economic background.
Key duties and responsibilities of the project technical officer:
• Willing to familiarize yourself with DROPS vision and mission, seeking to accomplish set goals and objectives.
• Conducting market research and identifying potential participants
• Cultivating strong relationships with beneficiaries, while maintaining existing participants relationships
• Working closely with staff across projects to implement growth strategies.
• Developing and implementing business strategies and analysing juniors/youth jobs data to inform or update marketing strategies.
• Identify new business opportunities, good cooperative examples in Lebanon.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with various levels of management, staff, and beneficiaries.
• Collect regular accurate data at community level of all types whenever needed.
• Conduct different assessments and surveys (beneficiaries’ identification, baseline and end line survey, follow up, diversity …etc.).
• Participate in project strategy definition, in setting up criteria for selecting beneficiaries
• Prepare, create and organize activities adapted to the needs of the project.
• Conducting info sessions of different topics related to the available context.
• Report daily activities, incidents, achievements and adaptations made to the management through the assigned forms and being precise.
• Coordinate with key stakeholders in planning and implementing field level activities in a coordinated way to ensure adequate programme synergies and to leverage resources
• Participate in relevant events organized by other stakeholders and cross learning both within and outside the project
• Facilitate and build up and maintain good relationships and communication with the beneficiaries and all stakeholders.
• Participate in the mitigation of problems between direct beneficiaries and other parties.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in business management, marketing, or related field.
• 2 – 3 years’ relevant work experience in business development or similar field preferred.
• Very Good written and verbal in English language.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
• Strong organization and project management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant software
