DRC has been responding to various humanitarian crises in Lebanon since 2004, working with Palestinian, Iraqi and Syrian refugees. DRC received registration from the Ministry of Interior in 2011, and since then has focused primarily on responding to the Syrian refugee crisis in Lebanon and the resulting impact on Lebanese host community. DRC Lebanon’s focus is to ensure that we are able to respond to critical emerging humanitarian needs whilst improve the living conditions of displacement-affected populations and contribute to the achievement of durable solutions.   With an annual portfolio of $12million, and with approximately 200+ staff, DRC is focusing its response in protection and economic recovery (Ec-Rec) sector in Bekka, North Lebanon and Beirut. DRC is also contributing to the evidence base and coordination structures in country through our Evidence Generation and referral information management (RIMs) teams.

About the job

The Economic Recovery Department at DRC Bekaa office is implementing a program aimed to enhancing the food and nutrition security in Bekaa. The program will allow to provide Cash for most vulnerable household but also enhance the knowledge on best hygiene practices and nutrition.

The Economic Recovery General Support – Data Collectors will be based in Bekaa as a member of the Economic Recovery Department, under the direct supervision of the Economic Recovery Team Leader, the General Support – Data Collectors expects to spend most of the working hours on the field.

The General Support – Data Collectors will be responsible for offering general information about the project, conducting socio-economic profiling tool for families, providing guidance for them, and providing verbal and written reports on the activities.

Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

Main Tasks

  • Lead the outreach process for the vulnerable families based on the project criteria within the selected geographical areas.
  • Answering phone calls, calling families to make registration appointments, offering general information about the project and following up with the previous contacted families;
  • Organize and perform assessment and work on information systems/database to record relevant data of beneficiaries;
  • Conduct socio-economic profiling assessment, winterization assessment and/or other assessment whenever needed;
  • Ensure assessment data is correctly entered, reviewed and validated;
  • Create spreadsheets to track data and information;
  • Review data for deficiencies or errors and update data information in database;
  • Ensure the classification and good archiving of each family file and ensure data protection of the collected information;
  • Provide verbal and written reports on the activities to the Economic Recovery Team Leader as and when needed;
  • Participate in the cash for food transfer modality, share list of eligible families with the Cash officer, follow up of baseline, end line and PDM;
  • Follow up with the families, to check receiving of service provider message and report the issue;
  • Ensure payments are distributed, properly tracked and archived;
  • Engage actively in monitoring of the cash transfer and the usage of money from beneficiaries’ side;
  • Address complaints or issues related to implementation and report back to line manager when needed;
  • Conduct referrals of beneficiaries with identified needs to other sectors (protection, wash, shelter, etc.) through RIMS;
  • Provide occasional administrative support;
  • Support all DRC Economic Department and activities when needed.

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to have a 1+ years of relevant work experience with NGOs or private sector in international organizations and humanitarian settings, which would include experience with the following activities:

  • Experience with fieldwork, monitoring activities and reporting are essential
  • Experience in data collection and data entry is essential
  • Good communication and Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and good team spirit

Moreover, we also expect the following:

Required:

  • TS or university degree in psychology, social field, IMS, Business administration or any other related majors
  • English: Good written and spoken
  • Fluency in local language
