Job Description:
Mouvement Social is seeking a part-time Accountant to provide maternity leave coverage for their accounting department. The successful candidate will assist with various financial and administrative tasks to support the accounting team.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Operational Activities:
- Assist in data entry and maintenance of financial records using accounting software
- Process and assist in issuing payments
- Provide general administrative support to the accounting department, including filing documents, photocopying, and organizing records
- Assist in archiving records
- Provide accounting and clerical support
- Assist the Accounting team with special projects
- Assist with monthly reconciliations
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in using office equipment such as scanners and photocopiers
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel) and ability to learn new software quickly
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
Generic Duties:
- Follow Mouvement Social’s operational policies and procedures
- Respect internal policies and procedures (e.g., dress code, attendance, discipline)
- Complete schedules, activity planners, monitor staff availability and address any shortfalls
- Resolve any staff issues and escalate unresolved issues to the related manager
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor
