Job Purpose: The Case Worker plays a vital role in providing comprehensive case management for participants in accordance with international standards and the principles of Child Protection case management. The Case Worker will be guided by a child-centered approach, ensuring the child’s safety, well-being, and best interests while upholding confidentiality, non-discrimination, and ethical conduct.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Case Management:
   • Conduct thorough assessments of participant’s needs, vulnerabilities, and safety concerns.
   • Develop and implement individualized care plans that outline appropriate interventions and services to address the child’s specific situation.
   • Regularly review and update case plans based on the child’s evolving needs and circumstances.
   • Coordinate access to essential services such as medical care, education, legal support, psychosocial assistance, and other relevant resources.
   • Foster effective communication and collaboration among service providers to ensure a holistic response to participant’s needs.
   • Provide counseling and psycho-social support to children and families, addressing emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges.
   • Use active listening, empathy, and appropriate therapeutic techniques to help individuals cope with trauma and build resilience.
2. Guiding Principles:
   • Apply the principles of Child Protection case management, including but not limited to a child-centered approach, respect for confidentiality, prioritization of safety concerns, “do no harm,” non-discrimination, and the best interest of the child.
   • Ensure that all actions are conducted with the utmost consideration for the child’s rights, dignity, and well-being.
3. Protection Principles:
   • Promote an understanding and adherence to Child Protection principles within the organization and among relevant stakeholders.
   • Advocate for the rights and protection of participants in all working groups, interactions, and interventions.
4. Child Participation:
   • Facilitate and promote meaningful participation of participants in decision-making processes related to their case management.
   • Adapt communication methods to ensure participants can express their views and preferences.
5. Accountability and Professional Conduct:
   • Maintain accurate and confidential case records, documenting all assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
   • Uphold professional boundaries and ensure a high level of ethical conduct in all interactions with children, families, and colleagues.
   • Plan for successful case closure by evaluating whether the participant needs have been met and risks have been mitigated.
   • Support the participant and family in transitioning to a safe and sustainable environment, providing necessary referrals and follow-up.
6. Capacity Building and Collaboration:
   • Participate in training and capacity-building initiatives to enhance case management skills and knowledge.
   • Collaborate with internal and external partners to coordinate and deliver a holistic response to children’s needs.
7. Reporting and Documentation:
   • Provide regular and timely updates on case progress to the supervisor and relevant team members.
   • Prepare clear and comprehensive case reports that detail interventions, outcomes, and any challenges faced.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in child protection, case management, or related fields.
• Strong understanding of international standards and principles of Child Protection case management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with participants and families.
• Proficiency in maintaining accurate and organized case records.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work in diverse contexts.
• Fluency in English and Arabic
