About the Role
As a Social Media Community Assistant, you’ll create compelling content across social media platforms, including authentic videos and engaging storytelling. Stay updated with social media trends, develop innovative strategies, and curate impactful content showcasing our global impact. Engage with our audience, respond to comments, and maintain a positive community environment. Monitor and evaluate social media metrics, make data-driven recommendations, and collaborate with the team to align efforts. This role will collaborate closely with and report to the Content Writer.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation
- Create compelling storytelling content that resonates with our target audience across various social media platforms.
- Shoot videos from the ground with a personal and handheld style, providing authentic and relatable content.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends, tools, and platform updates, and apply this knowledge to develop innovative social media strategies.
- Coordinate with community members globally to curate and share content that showcases the impact of our organization worldwide.
- Create short, snappy videos that capture attention and drive engagement in line with the latest social media video formats.
- Develop personas for the characters in our social media content to foster a sense of connection and storytelling.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging social media trends to enhance our social media presence continuously.
Community Engagement
- Post regularly and consistently across our social channels, ensuring a diverse mix of content types (text, images, videos, etc.) to keep our audience engaged.
- Utilize social media features such as highlights, guides, channels, and more to enhance our content presentation and user experience.
- Attract current and new audiences through proactive engagement, outreach to potential new followers, and community-building efforts on social media.
- Monitor and moderate conversations on our social media platforms to maintain a positive and engaging community environment.
- Engage with our audience by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
Monitoring & Evaluation
- Monitor and analyze social media metrics and insights to assess the performance of content and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
Coordination
- Collaborate closely with the Content Writer, Designers, and other team members to align social media efforts with overall communications strategies.
Eligibility
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic.
- Access to a computer or laptop with high-speed internet
- Strong social media trends skills, and experience navigating various phone editing software and apps.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with other remotely-based team members while also being self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Demonstrates respect for diverse identities, including strong multicultural awareness and gender-sensitive behavior as a member of a global team.
Required Skills and Experience
1. Core Qualifications
- Demonstrated passion for and knowledge of social media platforms, including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Familiarity with social media features and tools, such as highlights, guides, channels, stories, and live streaming.
- Knowledge of current social media trends, best practices, and emerging platforms.
2. Technical Skills
- Experience as Social Media Community Manager or similar role for a minimum of 1 – 2 years
- Strong understanding of social media analytics and the ability to interpret data to inform content strategies.
- Basic video shooting and editing skills, with a focus on creating authentic and engaging content.
3. Experience & Education
- Written and spoken fluency in Arabic & English and ability to translate between both languages.
