PRESENTATION OF THE ORGANIZATION

SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian NGO which, for more than 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting their vital needs for food, water and shelter. Particularly involved in the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the first cause of death in the world, SI’s interventions provide expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene promotion, but also in the essential area of food security and livelihoods. Present in around twenty countries, SI’s teams – 2000 people in total made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent staff at headquarters, and a few volunteers – work with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultures.

Hulo (www.hulo.coop) is the first humanitarian Cooperative created in June 2021, currently bringing together 11 organizations. Its main objective is to improve the efficiency of humanitarian logistics by pooling resources. Hulo believes in the power of data and will provide innovative challenges regarding data management in an international context with a multi-partner and multi-process configuration.

DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION

The Data Responsible (or Data Manager) for the Humanitarian Logistics Cooperative (also known as “hulo”), will work for the Business Analytics & Research (BAR) Department within the hulo operational team based in Lebanon.

The Data Manager is responsible for collecting, overseeing, organizing, storing, analysing data and data systems within the scope of the hulo BAR Department. The hulo Data Manager ensures data management is carried out with the utmost security, confidentiality, and GDPR compliance.

The main missions will be:

• Data collection and treatment:
  • Collect data from Joint Initiatives participants, and all activities related to the Business Analytics & Research department.
  • Develop techniques that allow collection of accurate data.
  • Determine data reliability and usability.
  • Organize and classify data according to the cooperative analytics framework.
• Databases management:
  • Maintain the Business Analytics & Research department databases up to date.
  • Evaluate the performance of hulo’s data systems and seek ways to enhance them.
  • Administrate users’ rights within in the Business Analytics Platform
• Data visualisation:
  • Extract pertinent data and build detailed visualisation reports.
  • Maintain the Business Analytics Platform up to date.
  • Train users on the Business Analytics Platform and data visualisation tool.
• Data governance & protection:
  • Create, revise, and enforce the cooperative Data Governance Framework including GDPR governance.
  • Analyse the compliance of all projects in a privacy by design GDPR approach, along with the business teams.
  • Maintain and update the processing register.
  • Provide advice and awareness to the cooperative.
  • Manage impact analysis.
  • Carry out a legal watch on the right to data protection and its exercise (CNIL/EDPS guidelines, best practices, recommendations, etc.).
  • Analyse and draft all new data protection contracts and hulo contract assignments.

Studies: Data Science Certificate or Master of Data Science

Experience: 0-2 years

Language: English (French or Spanish is a plus)

IT: Data Science Tools and Softwares

Qualification: Certificate or Master
