Action against Hunger is an international non-governmental, private, apolitical, non-religious and non-profit organization created in 1979. Its goal is to combat hunger and dangerous situations that threaten men, women, and children. Currently 500 expats and more than 5,000 employees are working for Action against Hunger in more than forty-six countries working in projects concerning four areas of focus: nutrition, health, food security and water and sanitation.
In Lebanon, the Syrian crisis continues to generate political, social, and economic pressure due to the war in Lebanon and keeps more than 1.5 million refugees in a situation of increasing vulnerability. In this environment of political, economic and social uncertainty, our teams have maintained their high levels of humanitarian response and aid to Lebanon. Likewise, our interventions have been maintained in the Bekaa and northern areas, as well as in the south of the country, with a special focus on working in partnership or in consortium with other organizations and on institutional strengthening of the relationship with both donors. institutional, such as with local authorities and entities.
WE WORK IN LEBANON AGAINST COVID-19
- Focusing on Syrian refugee population and Lebanese host communities,
- mobilization committees,

- Installing latrines for people with specific needs in Aarsal.
- Carrying out channel cleaning to ensure proper drainage. Distributing water through tanker trucks.
The FSL Field Supervisor will be responsible for:
The Field Supervisor will work directly with refugee and Lebanese communities, as well as direct beneficiaries. The Field Supervisor will be responsible for the daily implementation of ACF FSL department’s activities in Beqaa area. The Supervisor will be tasked to implement the weekly plans in a quality manner and to report problems encountered during the implementation to the HoP. The Supervisor will follow the daily activities of the Field Officers and will work in close relationship with the monitoring and evaluation supervisor, the monitoring and evaluation officers and other ACF field staff to ensure good quality of works.
Objective 1: To ensure timely and quality implementation of FSL activities.
- To design workplans for field activities and ensure timely follow ups and updates based on needs and requirements.
- To actively supervise the field officers in implementation of CfW plans with a 60% up to 100 % based on the needs presence in the field, and to actively engage in the process.
- To support field activities by:
- Ensuring timely requests of supplies and services based on the observation from the field.
- Supporting in the distribution of inputs.
- Ensuring the smooth flow of trainings and sessions.
- To supervise and actively support the field officers in the beneficiary selection process and liaise with them on modifications needed on daily basis.
- To organize distributions: receival of beneficiary cards, preparation of lists, identifications of locals for distribution, beneficiary informing, kits distribution, tools distribution, etc.
- To respond to complaints, field issues, and MEAL monitoring tools.
- To support Head of Project (HoP) in design of assessments and selection processes.
- To identify training needs for the project staff and report to the HoP.
- Train field officers together with the HoP for better implementation of project activities.
- To support ACF’s implementing partner(s) in conducting their livelihoods activities in the area.
Objective 2: Data collection and reporting.
- To ensure timely collection of beneficiary data, and verification tools.
- TO support in the precise compiling of beneficiary data, and beneficiary payment sheets based on field attendance.
- To organize community meetings, focus group discussions and assessments to identify the needs of the host and refugee populations upon the request of HoP.
- To provide verbal and written reports on the progress of activities to the HoP on the agreed frequency.
- To address issues foreseen:
- HR issues, security concerns and other identified food security and livelihoods issues, concerns with local authorities, issues with services provided to the HoP.
- To support the HoP in monthly and quarterly reports.
Objective 3: Team Management.
- To ensure the provision of guidance to the field officers and ensure proper team management.
- To ensure good understanding of the project objectives by filed officers.
- To address issues foreseen:
- HR issues, security concerns and other identified issues with field officers’ performance.
Objective 4: Stakeholder coordinators.
- To ensure smooth coordination and communication of activities with the staff of the municipalities in targeted areas.
- To ensure the performance of local representatives in the field and coordinate with them whenever needed.
- To represent Head of Project on daily encounters with other program stakeholders.
Objective 5: Support other humanitarian activities upon the request of the PM.
- To support the implementation of other food security and livelihoods activities upon
- the request of HoP.
- Support the emergency interventions of the organization as per the employee’s abilities.
- Support any activity that helps reaching our humanitarian goals, as per the employee’s abilities.
- Promote gender equality within the humanitarian and/or development work.
Objective 6: Security
- Assess and monitor security on daily basis and report any pending issues.
- Respect the security rules specified in the mission and base security plan and perform the security management tasks that can be assigned in its protocols.
- Communicate to the security managers of the working location any security related information or noncompliance with the security plan.
Requirements:
- BS in Agricultural or Environmental Sciences or Civil Engineering
- SWM, Cash-based interventions
- 2 years’ experience in humanitarian and development organizations Experience in livelihoods programs. Experience in labour intensive programs and cash-based interventions is important.
- Good team leadership, good listener, high communication skills, context analysis, flexibility and problem resolution. Experience in versatile environment and/or in the Bekaa will be considered an asset
- Arabic and English are compulsory Good skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and power point
