JOB SUMMARY

The teacher assistant is responsible for supporting the education team in the overall implementation of the education project in Beirut and Mount Lebanon.

He/ she will assist in providing non-formal education programs to out of school children and/or youth.

The candidate will closely work with refugee communities to ensure community mobilization and engagement throughout the implementation of the activities.

DUTIES

  • Participates in the planning and implementation of the non-formal education activities including:  outreach, basic literacy and numeracy.
  • Identifies out of school children and ensures their enrolment in the program.
  • Handling works related data entry and input.
  • Planning, Preparing and delivering lessons according to the curriculum.
  • Assessing and reporting on the behavior and progress of students.
  • Ensuring highest standards of quality and applying up-to-date teaching methods.
  • Refers specific cases to different services whenever required.
  • Attending and taking part in staff meetings to support the smooth running of the program.
  • Collaborating with parents, caregivers, and staff to safeguard and ensure the educational welfare of the students.
  • Flexibility to teach in rotation among the different BLN centers

ACADEMIC EDUCATION

Bachelor Degree in Education, Social Work, Social Sciences, Sociology, Animation or any related field.

EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE

  •  1 to 2 years of working experience in teachin preferably Arabic, English and Mathematics
  • Experience working with refugees and other vulnerable groups
  • Experience in community mobilization
