The Opportunity
The Education Officer is responsible for the overall monitoring of the catch-up programme in the formal Education sector under the supervision of the Education Coordinator and with support from the Education Project Manager. The Education Officer will ensure that programme implementation is timely and of a high technical quality, monitoring processes are in place, timely reporting occurs, the programme is continually assessed, and solutions are quickly put in place should there be a change of context. The Education Officer is expected to dedicate 50% of work time in the field.
In order to be successful you will bring/have:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Education, Development / Humanitarian Studies, Social Science, or other related fields.
- Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English.
- Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches.
- An understanding of formal and non-formal education and Education in Emergencies.
- Ability to analyse information, evaluate options and to plan strategically.
- Proven track record in quality delivery of educational programmes.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse qualitative and quantitative data and to develop data bases and data collection tools.
