JOB DESCRIPTION *

JOB SUMMARY:  This position is the focal point of the community program in the area, responsible of the implementation of community health activities and supervises community health team and outreach volunteers.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Develop detailed work plans and oversee schedule of Community Health team
•    Work closely with Health management and team to adapt interventions and services at facility level based on findings from communities
•    With the support of the Community Health management team and Monitoring and Evaluation team, train community health team on utilization of tools and develop new tools where needed
•    Conduct monitoring visits to informal settlements and/or community shelters/centers where the community health program is implemented
•    Track indicators and prepare weekly reports on community health program
•    Coordinate joint field activities and collaborations with other partners and agencies at the community level as well as with other departments within IMC
•    Represent the community health program in the areas, as well as in HWG and partner coordination meetings
•    Follow up on contingency recruitment plan and collect applications filled at the PHC
•    Identify potential candidates and interview them using Interview criteria form to guarantee appropriate recruitment
•    Manage and monitor expansion and geographical distribution of Community Health workers in each area
•    Attend monthly health meetings with the health management and team
•    Coordinate with the health team to share, discuss and find common solutions for challenges faced by the beneficiaries at the PHC level
•    Coordinate with Community Health team and the finance team for administrative and financial procedures like taking cash in advance, sending Procurement Requisition clearance, tracking Procurement Requisition online sheet, and closing Procurement Requisition
•    Monitor Non-food items distribution in the area and track Non-food items monitoring sheet.
•    Identify community outbreaks and public health concerns/trends/outside hospital delivery through community surveillance tool.
•    Closely monitor the initiation and implementation of Community Health clubs and submit reports about challenges faced and impacts reported
•    Keep accountability team informed of community complaints through Complaint’s form every Friday of every week

JOB REQUIREMENTS *

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

•    Typically, a Bachelor’s in Nutrition, Pharmacy and Nursing or any other medical field. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
•    Typically, 4+ years of relevant experience in similar position.
•    Previous work with a non-governmental organization or community-health programming
•    Good command of written and spoken Arabic and English
•    Excellent command of Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint
Desirable
•    Master’s degree in Public Health, epidemiology or environmental health
•    Providing health awareness and health promotion activities
•    Supervising field teams
•    Working knowledge in the provision of Maternal and Child Health care
•    Participating in community needs assessments and surveys
•    Good writing and reporting skills
•    Good leadership skills
•    Good communication skills
