Job Purpose:

The MEAL Assistant will be a part of the Monitoring, Evalu ation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) team, supporting implementation of the overall MEAL system. Under the supervision of the MEAL Manager , and technical support from MEAL officer ,  She/he will be responsible for conducting quality monitoring visits against Quality Benchmarks mainly on protection, shelter and food security  sectors, support the MEAL team to appropriately report on indicators thought the MEAL plans of projects in the designated area; support the programme team to ensure learning and accountability systems are working effectively in the areas of operation including routine collection of feedback from beneficiaries and other project stakeholders .

 

Main duties &  Responsibilities:

 

To assist the MEAL team in managing the M&E system all CONCERN WORLDWIDE projects and ensure it is implemented effectively

  • Assist MEAL Officer to prepare M&E Activity Plan in close coordination with the project teams.
  • Randomly monitor the processes with staff as well as beneficiaries; properly document the result and report to MEAL officer for further actions.
  • conducted Post distribution Monitoring, baseline , end line data collection with beneficiaries as per project MEAL plan and Guidelines using online data collection apps
  • Support MEAL officer in preparing data collection tools for PDMs, baselines and end lines in collaboration with the IM officer.
  • Assist MEAL officer in scripting quantitative surveys (PDMs, baselines and end lines) in DDG (Digital data gathering) or any comparable software in collaboration with the IM officer.
  • Undertake regular visits to the field locations to support implementing M&E activities like routine data collection and support participatory review meetings with communities
  • With the support of MEAL and IM officers, verify the quality of data collected from the field based on validity, timeliness, precision, reliability, and integrity of performance data gathered to monitor program performance.
  • Produce summary reports based on field visit and highlight  challenges and recommendation
  • Support MEAL officer in MEAL tool translation into Arabic.
  • With collaboration with CRM and program quality and accountability team, assist in collection of beneficiary complaint response mechanism data.

Essential Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in economics/ business, statistics, mathematics, computer science, and information management information or related fields;
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience in data collection, indicator tracking, and other monitoring and evaluation processes.
  • Languages: Fluent Arabic and average English
  • Skills:
    • Good proficiency in Excel, Kobo, or any other data analysis software
    • Demonstrable experience in gathering, analyzing and presenting quantitative and qualitative data
    • Demonstrated understanding of different data collection methodologies.
    • Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
    • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Detail-oriented, able to organize and manage various programmer files
    •  Good organizational and coordination skills

Desirable:

  • Excellent reporting skills are an asset.
  • Practical experience using participatory and result-based management approaches in MEAL.
  • Knowledge of the project location will be an advantage.
