JOB SUMMARY
The Social Worker works with people to support them through difficult times and ensure that vulnerable people, including children and adults are safeguarded from harm. Their role is to provide support to enable service users to help themselves. They maintain professional relationships with service users, acting as guides and advocates.
MAJOR DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide listening, support and counseling services to beneficiaries (men and women)
- Fill a social file for each beneficiary and integrate all related information on the system
- Refer beneficiaries to relevant NGOs and/or service providers when needed
- Conduct home visits to assess the needs of the HH and to insure the adequate social follow up
- Conduct field visits depending on the follow-up to be provided to each beneficiary (hospitals, schools…)
- Conduct working groups with women, men and children
- Accompany beneficiaries during various activities (personal development, awareness raising, recreational, other…)
- Ensure proper follow up on all actions to be considered for individual/family cases till achieving desired results
- Refer eligible cases to services within the project or within the center as required
- Report to the Head of Social Department the critical cases for final approval on the actions to be taken
- Prepare progress monthly reports on cases of beneficiaries and on activities implemented
- Update weekly the beneficiaries list
- Participate in training, conferences and attend meetings
- Assess, plan and implement activities in coordination with the Head of Department
- Coordinate/inform the Head of Sector and Sector’s Bureau of all planned and ongoing Social Activities
- Coordinate with other partners/stakeholders in the regions working with Refugees to avoid duplication and provide better services
- Work occasionally on weekends and/or afternoons/evenings to attend Bureau meetings, community events or to organize activities for various refugees.
- Assist the Medical, Education and Socio-Economic Development Departments in tasks directly related to the Beneficiaries.
- Perform administrative and secretarial support functions
- Responsible for CARITAS visibility
- Responsible for implementing/translating CARITAS mission

ACADEMIC EDUCATION
Bachelor degree in Social Work, Psychology, International human rights law, International relations or any related field.
EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE
1 – 2 years of relative experience.
