Position Summary:
MSI seeks a full-time Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Associate to work as part of MEPL’s Data Use Unit at the project office in Zalka, Lebanon under the supervision of the project’s Senior CLA Specialist. The MEL Associate will assist and support the MEPL team across its learning and capacity development activities related to identifying, collecting, analyzing, and disseminating data and evidence, good practices, and lessons learned emerging from MEPL’s technical cooperation with USAID/Lebanon and its implementing partner organizations.

Responsibilities:
Specific tasks for the MEL Associate are expected to include but not necessarily be limited to:
- Assist and support the Senior CLA Specialist and other MEPL team members in planning, scheduling, and implementing learning activities.
- Support the MEPL team in extracting lessons and insights from project and implementing partner data, documentation, and activities into actionable recommendations and plans for program improvements.
- Assist the MEPL team in capturing and preparing lessons learned and using various platforms (e.g., reports, blogs, community of practice) to effectively communicate and disseminate them with stakeholders.
- Assist the team in facilitating regular knowledge-sharing events through roundtables, workshops, and other formats with program staff, beneficiaries, and other stakeholders.
- Support the design, planning, logistics, implementation, and follow-up for capacity development activities for various stakeholders to promote evidence-based, knowledge-driven adaptive practices.
- Assist the MEPL team in developing training and learning products and materials.
- Assist in the preparation of, and on occasion lead the development of, documents such as meeting agendas, meeting notes, task schedules, concept notes, briefs, fact sheets and other relevant materials to support learning and capacity development.
- Support in the creation and maintenance of various databases and progress documents.
- Support technical report writing and documentation activities.
- Support the MEPL team in planning, designing, and implementing monitoring and evaluation activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, international development, data science or other related field, strongly preferred.
- 1-2 years’ experience in international development, preferably related to the generation and/or use of monitoring and evaluation data and reporting.
- Demonstrated planning, record keeping, organization, critical and strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated communication (verbal and written) skills.
- Experience in supporting adaptive management and cyclical project learning with program teams, preferred.
- Past experience with USAID or other international donor projects, preferred.
- Professional proficiency in English and Arabic, required
