The Rapid Response nurse will participate in response activities designed to prevent, mitigate and respond to the outbreak of COVID-19 within the area of concern.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions
- The Rapid Response nurse will be responsible for the implementation of the guidance on Home Quarantine and Isolation in a defined geographical region.
- Conduct and disseminate awareness on general precautions for COVID-19, self quarantine and home isolation at community level.
- Conduct phone and/or in-person counseling and assessment with the suspected and identified positive cases and their families to get the needed information
- Conduct onsite joint visits and assessments of beneficiaries, identifying any Health, WASH, SHELTER, Protection cases and report/refer them to the coordinator.
- Provide PPEs alongside our partners to suspected and identified positive cases and educate them on how to use them properly.
- Provide focused awareness on quarantine and home isolation for caregivers of the suspected/identified positive cases.
- Track the cases that are self-isolated, call them on a regular basis and provide regular updates on symptoms or other health developments.
- Conduct Joint visits with the IOCC Mobile Medical Unit for the help with dispersal of medications and crowd control for the beneficiaries.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of activities to the rapid response coordinator.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA):
- Self-motivated and initiative taker
- Organized
- Basic proficiency in writing, and reading English.
- Good public speaking and communication skills.
- Dynamic personality with strong social, interpersonal and intercultural skills
- Good report writing skills.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and computer usage.
- Ability to communicate with vulnerable populations.
- Willingness to use personal car
- Fluency in writing, reading and speaking Arabic is necessary
- Experience:
- 2-3 years of work experience
- Previous experience in working with vulnerable populations is an advantage.
