The Lebanese Transparency Association – No Corruption (LTA) was established in 1999 with the aim of reducing rampant corruption in Lebanon, promoting the principles of transparency and accountability, establishing the rule of law and respecting the fundamental rights inaugurated in international laws and the Lebanese Constitution, by focusing on systematic improvement, building alliances, and encouraging civil society organizations to take measures towards transparency and accountability. LTA later became the national chapter of Transparency International (TI).

LTA has worked to enhance transparency in the public and private sectors in Lebanon for more than a decade, by implementing a number of projects that ranged from contributing to the development to lobbying the anti-corruption laws (such as the draft law on the Right to Access to Information, the Whistleblowers Protection Law, the Asset and Interest Declaration and the Punishment of Illicit Enrichment Law etc….), and the monitoring of parliamentary and municipal elections since 2009, in addition to other projects aimed at empowering youth and municipalities on issues related to good governance …

LTA was chosen as a member of the first Independent Oversight Board (IOB) for the Reform, Recovery and Reconstruction Framework (3RF), which was launched in response to the aftermath of the Beirut Port explosion.

In order to respond to the endemic corruption that Lebanon suffers from, LTA established the Lebanese Advocacy and Legal Advice Centre (LALAC), a model developed by Transparency International and implemented in nearly 60 countries around the world, and adapted to the Lebanese context where witnesses of corruption can report corruption cases and getting free an

legal advice.

After several years of LALAC operations, reported hundreds of corruption cases, LTA intends to revamp LALAC scope of operations in order to maximize the effectiveness of its anti-corruption reporting, as well as to ensure transparency in the management of the aid incoming to implement reforms, relief and reconstruction efforts in the aftermath of the Beirut Blast on August 4th 2020.

LTA is looking for a competent, effective and energetic Accountant who will be reporting to the Finance & Administration Coordinator

Job Responsibilities:

1.Ensure that all financial transactions (including grant disbursement) and data are correctly implemented according to LTA guidelines.
2.Ensure that all financial documents are accurately supported, approved and coded, and that all check books, check list, petty cash, AR & AP are maintained correctly.
3.Manage banking, accounts and balances effectively and efficiently, including undertaking monthly bank reconciliations, foreign exchange management as and cash flow management in a timely manner.
4.Support the Programs Unit in management Forecasted budget and reporting expenditure based on LTA set dates and guidelines.
5.Contribute to annual/quarterly budget development and reporting.
6.Support in preparation of monthly expenditure in relation to budget reports and inform management on a timely basis.
7.Undertake periodic checks of assets, and prepare reports for management.
8.Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audit.
9.Maintain well-organized physical and electronic archive of financial documentation.
10.Support the Finance & Administration Coordinator in undertaking all finance and administration related responsibilities.

Education, skills and experience:

1.Holder of BA in Accounting
2.At least three years of relevant work experience, preferably in the NGOs field.
3.Experience of using accounting packages, Visual Dolphin experience is a plus.
4.Impeccable, corruption‐free reputation and integrity.
5.Ability to keep deadlines and keen attention to details.
6.Ability to maintain confidentiality.
7.Can work under pressure and passionate about NGO’s and its mission.
9.Analytical Ability and Multitask.

Changes and Amendments: 

This job description may be amended by LTA after consultation with the employee and the management.
