INTRODUCTION
The Women’s Programs Association (WPA) is a non-profit non-governmental organization (NGO), legally registered with the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities since 2008. Its mission is to provide support to Palestinian refugee women and youth and other vulnerable groups in Lebanon to develop their capacities, realize their rights, and fulfill their needs. This is achieved through Protection, Education, Livelihood, and Humanitarian Assistance programs implemented in eight Palestinian refugee camps and surroundings throughout Lebanon. WPA’s work is guided by Transparency, Integrity, Non-Discrimination, Respect for Human Beings.
The Women’s Programs Association is currently in the process of recruiting a Project Assistant for the Education project entitled “Supporting and Tutoring at Risk of Dropping out Students” (STARS). This position will be based at Ein el Hilweh camp in Saida. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Education Coordinator in overseeing the implementation of the STARS project.
Job Purpose
The Project Assistant will be responsible for supporting the Education Coordinator and the project team in the implementation, coordination, and monitoring of STARS project.
Place in the Organization
The Project Assistant reports technically to the Education Coordinator.
Responsibilities
The specific duties of the Project Assistant will include:
- Support the Project Coordinator in the development and implementation of project work plans, and reports;
- Provide technical and administrative support to the teachers to develop their weekly / monthly plans, and supervise the implementation;
- Coordinate with the Centre Supervisor to ensure availability of all logistics and administrative requirements;
- Support in the development of the performance indicator tools and the timely collection of relevant data;
- Responsible for drafting correspondence, filing documents; and maintaining project records and students’ attendance and teachers’ time sheets; and in the organization of meetings, workshops, and training sessions when needed;
- Act as the focal point with UNRWA principles to exchange data and information about the students;
- Liaise with the students’ families on issues related to their children’s attendance and progress, their participation in PSS sessions organized by the social worker and other matters;
- Any other tasks(s) as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education, child development or a relevant field such as social sciences, or development studies.
- A minimum of two years of experience in a similar position, preferably in educational programs.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of project management and monitoring and evaluation principles and tools.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications.

- Strong organizational and administrative skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
