Assignment Context:
The candidate is responsable to provide is expected to provide: – Professional-level and top-quality video and photographic coverage of events and meetings under the Adaptation Fund project – Timely production of high-quality video/photo content for promotion, dissemination, distribution and publication – Dynamic and powerful multimedia content for in-house and online distribution
Task Description:
Under the supervision of the Secretary of the Commission, the UN Volunteer is responsible to perform the following functions:
• Take photos and edit them in line with visual identity of the project entitled “Increasing the resilience of displaced and host communities to climate change-related water challenges in Jordan and Lebanon” (Adaptation Fund project)
• Take video footages of conferences and events under the Adaptation Fund project and edit them as required, prepare wrap-up videos, when required
• Develop visual workflows, storyboards and concepts to create engaging content for social media • Conceptualize, prepare and shoot videos • Film interviews or short video messages under the Adaptation Fund project
• Set up lighting for shoots
• Edit and compost multimedia video projects with Adobe Premiere and AfterEffects • Pre-production and storyboard for motion graphics and animations of PR videos and social videos about the Adaptation Fund Project
• Create full videos including design and animation (motion graphics) including custom transitions • Participate in design and production of multimedia campaigns and content
• Perform other duties as requested by ESCWA Communication Unit
Living conditions and remarks
As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. This position is based in Beirut, Lebanon. National UN Volunteers are part of the malicious insurance plan. National UN Volunteers are expected to be culturally sensitive and adjust to the prevailing culture and traditions. Conditions of Service for national UN Volunteers The contract lasts for the period indicated above with possibility of extensions subject to availability of funding, operational necessity and satisfactory performance. However, there is no expectation of renewal of the assignment. The applicable Volunteer Living Allowance is provided monthly to cover housing, utilities and normal cost of living expenses. Life, health and permanent disability insurance are included (health insurance for up to 3 dependents – except for UN Community Volunteers), as well as final repatriation (if applicable). Furthermore, in non-family duty stations that belong to hardship categories D or E, as classified by the ICSC, a Well-Being Differential (WBD) will be provided monthly.
