Key Responsibilities:
Project set-up and implementation
- Set Project set-up and implementation
- Assist in tasks related to setting up new projects in Lebanon. This includes support to proposal development and conceptualization, project work-plan development, planning, facilitating inception workshops, and assisting the local partner(s) in the effective start-up of projects.
- Support the MEAL department in conducting needs assessments to inform project development, including consideration of relevant data and liaison with partner/field colleagues for data collection.
- Support in the mobilization and mapping of programmatic resources in support of the portfolio such as studies, methodologies, and reports.
- Assist local partners in preparing regular work plans.
- Contribute to timely and accurate implementation of the project activities with supporting documentation and provide solutions to problems and actions in collaboration with implementing partners and CACH colleagues where needed.
- Support the partners in high quality and timely internal reporting.
- Compile on-time reports for assigned projects in line with donor requirements and internal CACH regulations and in accordance with reporting schedule.
- Promote CACH experiences in the fields of livelihoods, education and humanitarian relief when communicating with partners and external stakeholders.
- Conduct regular project visits within Lebanon to monitor progress of activities.
- Carry out other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL)
- Assist the MEAL team in preparing M&E plans, new tools and templates and revise existing ones related to ensuring high standards of M&E (e.g., progress, quality, relevance, and impact monitoring) in cooperation with the managers.
- Assist the MEAL team in the identification of best practices and map lessons learned; formulate and share lessons learned and best practices with the supervisor.
- Support the Programme Manager, finance & MEAL team in the revision of the project following lessons learned.
- Carry out other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Coordination, Partnership Management
- Contribute actively to maintain a strong working relationship with partners and keep the MEAL Manager informed of all partnership developments.
Competencies and Qualifications
Education
University degree in Humanitarian or Development Studies, International Relations, Business Administration, Social Work, or a related field..
Professional Experience
- 3+ years of relevant experience in functional or technical area of livelihoods and education programming
- Prior experience in livelihoods, education and/or humanitarian relief programming is mandatory
- Proven work experience in a post-conflict setting.
- Proven work experience in donor reporting.
- Sound understanding of the Lebanon context.
- Proven track record of working in a similar capacity with the national and/or international NGOs in the region.
Skills and Competencies
- Highly organized, good capacity of analysis and synthesis, and attention to coherence and detail. Strong inter-personal skills, patience, and persistence, if required.
- Strong motivation to work in close partnership with national partners.
- Expertise in analyzing data using statistical software.
- Strong writing skills for proposal development and reporting
- Sound understanding of humanitarian standards
- Solid communication, training and presentation skills, especially in writing.
- Solid and proven capacity building and coaching skills.
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision and to cope with time pressure
- Sound experience with modern ICT, technology and modern management tools
Language and Other Requirements
a. Fluency in Arabic and English are required.
b. Permission to work in Lebanon.
c. Willingness to frequently travel to the field (50%)
