Job Purppose:
Work to strengthen the child protection policy in Basmeh & Zeitooneh, provision of psychosocial support for participants of all groups, identification of the necessary needs of participants and referring them to appropriate services.
Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychosocial support and awareness sessions for children and caretakers targeted by the project in the area of implementation;
- Assess, mitigate, and report on protection risks encountered during the implementation of the project by specifying the risks and implications for participants.
- Provision of protection guidance to participants through individual/group sessions
- Report on individual / Household protection and non-protection issues identified and referred to during project activities.
- Share information on Key protection messages, PSEA, rights, and protection services available to participants both within B&Z and through external partners and agencies.
- Along with the caretakers, organize structured, group skills-building sessions to enable children to enhance and/or develop their life/soft and transition skills;
- Proactively identify any behavioral changes or issues the children might have and complete the appropriate referrals to the external psychologist or other external specialized services;
- Communicate regularly with case management and protection staff for updates on achievements and challenges identified with children
- Consistently and proactively monitor/assess the safety and security of children during the sessions; promptly reporting concerns or incidents to B&Z Protection Program Manager
- Follow up on individual cases of children that need intervention, and provide advice to the educational team in dealing with these cases.
- Writing monthly reports that include referral reports, awareness sessions, and psychosocial support.
- Networking with humanitarian organizations, institutions, societies, and others to support participants to obtain the required service inside and outside the community center.
- Build meaningful and trusting relationships with participants from the community.
- Create a safe and supportive environment where participants feel comfortable expressing their needs, concerns, and aspirations.
- Employ a participant-centered approach to collaboratively identify individual and collective needs, rights, and responsibilities.
- Offer counseling, guidance, and referrals to appropriate services as needed.
- Design and conduct EMAP sessions for both men and women to promote gender equality and encourage their active involvement in community initiatives.
- Foster discussions and activities that facilitate understanding and collaboration among participants.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support the children and caretakers and enable and develop B&Z programs.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Working within the principles of the Code of Conduct.
- Ensuring that participants have access to the appropriate service.
- Ensuring that the Foundation’s team interacts with participants within the principles of the B&Z, especially preserving dignity and avoiding psychological harm.
- Achieving the required number of participants at the end of the program while ensuring the quality of work.
- Ensure that a safe environment is provided for the child in the institution and the school.
- Create positive communication with the team.
Education & Experience:
- University degree in Social work, Sociology, and Psychology or any related field
- Work experience of not less than two years in the field of psychosocial support
- Experience working with organizations
- Participate in training courses and workshops on protection (child labor, domestic violence and SGBV, etc …)
