OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:
Under the supervision of the Land Release Project Manager, the Victim Assistance/Social worker will ensure the effective implementation of HI protection programs in the assigned areas of operation, and identification of mine victims and their families, assess their needs then refer them to receive the needs services either internally (such as physical rehabilitation, mental health services, assistive devices …) or to external services in reference to HI existing map of services and referral mechanisms.

Responsibilities
Responsability 1 – Operations & Activities Management
- Ensure the effective implementation of high-quality protection programs, specifically victim assistance, case-management, and psychosocial support services in line with proposals, budgets, work plans and DRC standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Participate to the planning process of the RE component under the supervision of the LR PM and to its regular review.
- Ensure Face to face to mine and EO victims and families according to data shared by LMAC.
- Collects data, update information related to Victims concerning age, sex, disability etc, and assess their needs.
- Produce weekly and monthly action/work plan based on project planning and report/update on achievements done during weekly team meetings.
- Responsible for sending weekly RE planning to LR PM to be sent to LMAC.
- In charge of daily submissions via IMSMA Core.
- Ensure casefiles are complete, accurate and confidential in line with relevant HI standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Work with the Quality Assurance Unit to implement monitoring and evaluation tools and provide recommendations to the PM.
- Mapping of relevant existing services in the area of operations.
- refers the Victims to the relevant services.
- Ensure the follow up with both the victim and the service provider.
Responsability 2- Data Management and Reporting
Activities:
- Ensuring systematic liaison and communication with LMAC in terms of planning, reporting and data collection, in link with EO activities.
- Collect all the missing information.
- In charge of the data entry for relevant tools.
- Ensure data collected is accurate, complete and consistent.
- Range all the open files in order and respect confidentiality.
- Produce weekly and monthly reports for all field activities
- Contribute to the tools development/enhancement and work closely with the MEAL unit.
- Contribute to the data analysis and work closely with the MEAL unit.
- Ensure internal standards and guidelines are respected.
- Fill with precision the internal reporting tools and any other tasks to be made upon line manager request.
Responsibility 3 – Visibility and Safety: Contribute to increasing the organization’s acceptance and staff safety in the area of intervention.
Activities:
- Actively participate in local working groups and coordination meetings as instructed by the line manager.
- Conduct regular visits to local authorities (mayors, mokhtars, community leaders etc.) to update on HI’s intervention and obtain necessary approvals, subject to the line manager’s approval.
- Regular coordination with Humanitarian Actors who are present in the area.
- Fill with precision the daily movement plan according to the shared weekly workplan.
- Report necessary incidents which may affect project activities or field visits to the security focal point.
- Proactively and regularly report the context challenges to the line manage/security focal point.
Perform any other duties related to the nature of the job as directed by PM

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- University Degree in the field of expertise of the project or/and equivalent working experience
- At least 2 years of professional experience in the related field preferably with NGO.
- Social work experiences with persons with disabilities on their education and/or rehabilitation issues would be an asset.
- Demonstrate good understanding of social issues.
- Understanding of a comprehensive approach on disability and vulnerability.
- Proven coordination skills to work with a diverse network of actors, including the public authorities, in a diplomatic manner.
- Good report writing skills.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment and in a multidisciplinary teamwork.
- Ability to work under high pressure with a great level of personal organization.
- Demonstrated effective communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to relate to the target group (be approachable, shows empathy).
- Ability to propose workable solutions and identify their implications (positive and negative) adapted to beneficiaries’ needs.
- English and Arabic mandatory (oral and written).
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, especially Excel, Word and Power Point.
- Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills. Diplomacy sense
- Strong organizational and administrative skills to manage a number of referral cases timely and accurately.

Basic salary for the position : Social Worker/MVA position is going to be paid according to HI salary Grid..
Basic Salary :starting 1450$
