I. INTRODUCTION
The Lebanon Reforestation Initiative (LRI) is a Lebanese NGO registered at the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities under no. 1186 on 18 June 2014, which aims to expand, manage and protect Lebanon’s forests and landscapes through a community-based approach. We work on building resilient communities to environmental threats, increasing environmental awareness and education, advocating for forest conservation, and advancing research in the forestry field.
II. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Junior Field Officer at the Lebanon Reforestation Initiative (LRI) is responsible for the field monitoring. S/he applies Junior Field Officer principles and procedures, provides accurate and timely information to LRI Project Coordinator and LRI Project Manager, and ensures Junior Field Officer procedures.
The Junior Field Officer is expected to perform the following duties:
- Conduct Outreach and vulnerability assessment interviews.
- Conduct Informative sessions.
- Conduct daily monitoring visits to the sites and support other team members in field visits when needed and assist the donor’s team during their monitoring visits.
- Check and send scanned copies of attendance booklets and sites pictures on a daily basis.
- Ensure a proper implementation of the fieldwork.
- Report daily on the work progress of work.
- Report payment issues, dropout cases, challenges, accidents on site.
- Coordinate the activities and schedule with the site supervisors.
- Inspect and receive delivered tools, equipment, and seedlings.
III. REQUIREMENTS
The Field Officer should possess the following competencies, skills, and experience:
- Good academic and proven practical knowledge in the field of community mobilization, coordination of community activities, social work, forestry, or any related field.
- At least 2-3 years of relevant experience working with rural communities.
- Experience in the environmental/agriculture sector.
- Ability to conduct training, field visits and organize meeting.
- Familiar with international donors’ projects.
- Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professionalism and ethical behavior.
- Willingness to use his/her own car.
- Willingness to travel daily to one of the below project’s areas:
Area 1: Akkar (Qobaiyat-Mechmech-Ain Yaacoub-Akkar El Attika)
Area 2: Akkar (Fnaideq-Deir Jannine-Bqarzala)
Area 3: Tripoli & Jbeil (Ehmej)
Area 4: Keserwan (Kfour-Ghineh-Al Hssein-Ghbele-Ghedres-Nammoura-Jouret El Termos) & Matn (Baskinta)
