The candidate will support the Finance department’s management of accounting systems, policies and procedures in compliance with JPII established accounting standards, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), donors’ rules and regulations, and legal requirements to support high-quality programs. As part of an experienced finance team, the candidate will help coordinate daily financial activities through preparation and delivery of financial services.
Duty Station Beirut with monitoring visits in branch offices in the North Lebanon Beqaa Region
Roles and Key Responsibilities:
- Help doing month-end close processes of the country offices, preparing monthly financial statements, registering in the accountancy system, and ensure reconciliations.
- Ensure timely, accurate and complete accounting and reporting of project expenses.
- Review and supporting documentation of financial transactions to ensure all required documents are accurate and complete.
- Maintain appropriate archiving systems of the transactions, financial documents of the country offices and supporting documents of the implementing partners.
- Ensure all original documents are properly coded and filed and the electronic copies are filed electronically in the iCloud storage drop box.
- Coordinate disbursements to implementing partners, record their expenses and monitor their budget in line with the partnership agreements.
- Review various financial documents to detect irregularities.
- Coordinate the year-end closing activities, supporting the preparation of the yearly financial statements in alignment with the JPII and donor requirements.
