Première Urgence – Aide Médicale Internationale (PU-AMI) is a non-profit, non-political and non religious humanitarian NGO. Its objective is to bring about a global response to the basic needs of populations suffering from acute humanitarian crisis and to allow them to recover their autonomy and dignity. In close respect to humanitarian principles, PU-AMI promotes humanitarian access and dialogue with all components of the civil society in Lebanon, and delivers assistance based on the needs, regardless of religion, politics and ethnic matters.

 

Today, PU-AMI is intervening in 21 countries in Africa, the Near East, Caucasus, Asia and the Caribbean to cover the needs of populations affected by conflict, natural disasters or economic crises.

 

PU-AMI in Lebanon has been implementing emergency and recovery projects in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, in Shelter Rehabilitation, Health and in Livelihood Recovery sectors.

SUPERVISION

Under the direct supervision of Head Driverunder the technical supervision Logistics SupervisorWorks in close collaboration withall departments (of which s/he is independent)in supervision of N/A

OVERALL MISSION

1. GENERAL OBJECTIVE

Under the direct supervision of the Head Driver, the Driver has to ensure the daily transportation of PU-AMI staff and goods, following the established schedules, as well as the maintenance and safety of PU-AMI vehicles.

 

 

1. RESPONSABILITIES AND TASKS

Role and Responsibilities

1. TRANSPORTATION

1. To drive PU-AMI staff, or other staff to any place for professional purpose only and ensure the safety of all passengers
2. To drive PU-AMI materials and equipment for professional purpose only and help for the loading and unloading of the vehicle
3. To park the vehicles in accordance with PU-AMI safety rules

 

1. Maintenance

1. To ensure the checking of the car fleet (log book, usual checking…) in coordination with the Fleet Officer.
2. To check all the documents of the vehicles and their validity.
3. To ensure maintenance of the car fleet: fuel, cleaning, checking and repairs.
4. To fill in the log book for every movement according to PU-AMI rules.
5. To help maintaining up the premises

 

1. Security

1. To share security information with the Logistics Manager & the Security Manager in the base
2. To make sure all his/her passengers put on their security belt.
3. To follow PU-AMI driving rules and regulations.
4. To understand and obey traffic law and regulations

1. Support

1. To help with any task related to the activities/ or structure of the mission when required by his/her supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS

Mandatory requirements

• Language skills Fluent in Arabic, (speaking/reading/writing).
• Work experience significant experience in driving
• Other:
  • Mechanical and electrical skills
  •  Knowledge of PU-AMI working  areas
  •  Valid driving license (2 year minimum)

• • Being flexible, adapt easily to changes and reorganize priorities according to needs
  • Ability to work in, cope up with stress and pressure, and to adjust to different situations
  • Ability and eagerness to work with different cultures
