PRESENTATION OF THE ORGANIZATION
SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian NGO which, for more than 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting their vital needs for food, water and shelter. Particularly involved in the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the first cause of death in the world, SI’s interventions provide expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene promotion, but also in the essential area of food security and livelihoods. Present in around twenty countries, SI’s teams – 2000 people in total made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent staff at headquarters, and a few volunteers – work with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultures.

DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION
General objective:
The Field Officer will implement emergency WASH, shelter, and basic assistance activities in North and Akkar under CDCS Funds, ensuring effective service delivery and community engagement. Responsibilities include coordinating with local providers, managing logistics, leading distribution campaigns, supporting Solid Waste Management planning, and establishing WASH committees. The role requires adaptability, accountability, and alignment with Solidarities International standards in dynamic field conditions.
The main challenges:
- Quickly grasping project objectives and translating them into actionable activities.
- Maintaining clear communication with local service providers (e.g., water supply operators, desludging service providers) and ensuring compliance with agreed terms.
- Managing unpredictable conditions in emergency settings and adapting activities to evolving needs or constraints.
Priorities for the 2/3 first months:
- Understand project targets and participate in assessments to evaluate gaps and needs based on project requirements.
- Lead SI WASH, shelter and basic assistance emergency response for North and Akkar under CDCS Funds
- Support the program manager in developing a Solid Waste Management plan.
- Lead emergency distribution campaigns under CDCS Funds
- Participate in community engagement and services activities including monitoring and supervision in the field.
Responsibilities and main activities:
- Identifying target groups, planning activities, and updating tools based on needs.
- Under the supervision of the line manager, assist with logistical planning for distributions (NFI and CRI), participate in community engagement activities, and emergency response efforts (e.g., setting-up handwashing stations, promoting hygiene practices).
- Establishing and collaborating with WASH Committees, monitor community engagement, water trucking, and desludging operations, and ensure alignment with criteria.
- Coordinating with water supply operators, ensure compliance with delivery routes

- Participating in Emergency response inside and outside Collective shelters.
Reporting/Communication
- Provide the line manager and security focal point with timely updates on field-level security, operations, logistics, and administrative matters, following SI’s established protocols and tools.
- Ensure thorough documentation of activities, incidents, outcomes, referrals, and other key data, and share monitoring outcomes as required.
- Inform beneficiaries about SI’s mission, activities, achievements, and other relevant external actors, and represent Solidarities International as needed.
- Engage in both internal and external referral processes.
- Build and sustain positive relationships with beneficiaries and assist in addressing inter-community issues when they occur.
- Coordinate daily with other SI activities and departments to align on operational needs.

PROFILE NEEDED
Studies : Any Bachelor degree preferably Public Health and Social Sciences.
Experience : WASH, Shelter & basic assistance in emergency setting, good communication skills.
Language : Fluent in Arabic, good in English
IT : Microsoft Package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), knowledgeable about GIS and coordinates.
Qualification: Fast Learning and adaptability – Good Communication Skills – High diplomacy and negotiation skills – High attention to detail – Reliable and punctual on deadlines.

A salaried post : 1325 USD as basic salary
